This is a montage of animated vignettes, backed by famous composers. Think, music videos of the classics. My preschooler learned to identify key-changes from this movie, with my help.
This is a sequel to the original Fantasia release. The single point of overlap is the Sorcerer's apprentice. Some, but not all of the segments contain familiar Disney characters. Beethoven's 5th or, "the ba-na-na-na song", as my toddler jubilantly calls it, is presented with a geometric barrage of color. There are 8 animations, some more stunning than others, and I'll let the rest be a surprise.
WARNING: The message of destruction and rebirth is repeated in this DVD. These images may be too intense for the sensitive child. I strongly urge you to preview this or any film before presenting it to your child. My preschooler and I had a long discussion about the cycle of life after a viewing. My toddler, on the other hand, chuckled through the whole thing.
